We saw the cross from about 10 miles while traveling west on I-40.   It got bigger and bigger as we approached until it was unbelievable.  There was no way that we could pass it by without stopping.  Our visit was just before the last two stations were completed but it was still one of the most awesome experiences of our lives.  To climax the most wonderful experience, upon leaving and just as we entered I-40 this beautiful rainbow appeared in the North.  There is no doubt that the Lord lives.  Arden & Marilyn Weeks,  Moselle, MS
My son was 7 my daughter 14.  It was the first trip that my husband ever took me on by ourselves.  He drove for Franks and Sons back then.  We had many adventures during our trip.  One of my fondest memories, I have is the Cross and the stations that were at it's base.  At the time we visited there wasn't as many statues, but I'm enclosing the ones I have treasured all these years.  The aborted child stone is what really meant the most to me. I had, had an abortion 11 yrs. before I was blessed with my daughter.  For years I wanted to have a place to morn my child besides inside of myself.  The Groom Cross gave me that place of peace for my child.  That day I was truly healed of the hurt and anger I had heaped upon myself...  Know one knows the pain we go through when we give our children our gifts from God back to him.

This is such an awesome sight! I was on vacation last year with my sisters and we stopped here, it was wonderful !!We took pictures, but it was getting late so some of them are a little dark, but none the less we were in awe at how magnificent it all was, truly a wonderful sight. Thank you, Peggy Myers Washington State.
It was a cold day in the panhandle of Texas, 40 degrees with a stiff wind blowing. We were traveling along I-40 and saw the image of a cross in the distance about 20 miles away. The Spirit moved strongly within us and we made the exit on 1-40, Exit 112, in Groom, Texas. We were so struck with awe that we were speechless. The sights there renewed within us a love for The Cross and a renewed dedication to our LORD and SAVIOR, Jesus Christ to spread the Good News! Thank God for your tireless work and wonderful gift to the world!

Hello.
My husband and I drove through Texas today and were amazed by the enormous cross we saw on the side of the road.  We were short on time so did not drive over to the base but were able to pull off and view the cross from the service road.
Thank you for sharing such an awesome structure with the thousands of people that drive through Groom every day!  What an amazing way to share your faith with so many people.

I have visited the cross several times in the past four years. What a blessing.  May gods love be in every thing that is there and continue to bless you and your family,  I drove for Covenant Transport at that time and There are several pictures out there of the cross with a covenant truck in the background. What A Blessing. Maybe one of these drivers will forward them on to you . thanks again for all you have done . Charlotte Carino Chickamauga Ga

My husband and I have driven past the cross, and stopped, many times en route from Lubbock, TX to Nebraska.  It always makes us rejoice to see it and know what it means and know how many others are seeing it daily.  It took great faith for those who built it but certainly is worth it.  There is no telling how many lives have been touched by it.

In 2004 I joined my husband who was driving long haul in the States.  I am Catholic and my husband had seen this cross the he distance and was sure it was a place I would like to visit.  He took me there and oh what a sight it was still under construction and the little gift shop held very little I took photos not knowing if they would turn out and they are magnificent.  I hope one day to again visit the now completed site seeing the pictures brings back a memory of such an awesome opportunity.  My brother-in-law reutrned the next year along with my husband and took some better images for me and these are now a magnificent power point I share with others.  I only found this website today and thank you it is just awesome and the tears flow as they did the day I visited and spent an hour here.  Thank you from Bernadette New Zealand.

OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD! How awesome is your tribute to Him! THANK YOU!  I have gotten links to your site several times and I love to share the Outdoor Stations with friends.  I have posted the link on my Facebook page, I hope it's OK.  If not, I will remove it immediately.
I hope many will visit the Cross & Stations in person or online, especially as Holy Week 2009 begins.  Thank you again for sharing the light & love of Christ with the world!

My daughter and I traveled to Oklahoma City last year for the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship show and came across this beautiful cross.  This year we again went to OKC and this time we were looking for the cross.  It was early morning in our travels on July 29th and there it was!  It just takes your breath away!!!  I took this photo with my cell phone as the sun was rising.  This is now the picture I use as wallpaper on my cell phone.  Very uplifting and inspiring!   I just had to share my picture.

I saw this in an email and was in awe. Never in my wildest imagination did I think I would get to see it in person.  We were on a family trip to see my baby sister in Phoenix and my dad chose to take US 40.  We drove by and my mom pointed it out. I told my dad that on the way home we should stop.  Well, I did not think it was going to work out. I was so surprised to wake up in the RV and be at the foot of the cross. It was so awesome!!!! Thanks for going to such great lengths to put that up so everyone can see that.  God bless you all.

I just took my 9 year old son to ride our dirt bikes across the continental divide in Colorado.  It was a tremendous experience for him.  On the way home back to Oklahoma, we stopped by your wonderful place.  My son immediately ran to a statue of Jesus and gave him a big hug around his neck and said he was ready to go to Heaven.  He would not leave Jesus’ side…he would not leave.  I took a picture of his arm around Jesus.  Attached is that picture.  After we were back in the truck and heading home…I asked him what was the best part of our trip.  I expected him to tell me which trail of our ride was his favorite.  He shocked me by saying that his trip to your place was his favorite.  He wants to return real soon.  You have touched the lives and hearts of many people with your place.  God bless you and your ministry. Sincerely, Tim Startz, PMP

We remember so very clearly how over 10 years ago, we came upon the CROSS!  or shall we say... The CROSS came uponm us!

That was such a life changing experience for my husband and I.  We even had the priviledge then to meet the owner/Builder of the CROSS Ministry.  It was a polished and refined as it is now, but the Spirit of the Lord was there even
in it's infacy stages.  it is a true blessing to see how the Lord has blessed your Ministry and so many thousands of people who have been forturnate enough to encounter this miraculous reminder and commemorative of the GREATEST DAY ON EARTH! Through Jesus Christ Suffering and death at the cross, today we have the opporturnity and UNWORTHY priviledge to LIVE!  Thank you Jesus for the CROSS!  THANK YOU FOR saving a wretch like me!

Last year as we traveled across Texas we happened to see this light on a huge cross but didn't have time to stop and it was dark that night.  This year we made a special point of stopping to see this awesome cross.  We took pics of the all the statues and they were fantastic and well made.  It had rained and stopped just before we came so there were still drops falling from the enormous cross.  But the whole area was magnificent.  Really a breathtaking worth while trip this year.  Plan to tell all my friends about it.  It is just amazing.  Can't say enough good things about it.  The tomb on the side was really awesome too.
Have a nice day!!!Janet Todd

My husband and I found the cross by accident. We had not heard of it. We saw it at a distance while traveling on a business trip. We will stop to see it up close when we return by it. We can't wait. God Bless. Greg and Glynda McGhee, Camilla, Georgia

Your efforts will not be forgotten! I know it was a work of Love for God. I know what you did to accomplish the iron works of art. I have been a steel fabricator all my working career and have fabricated steel for many large building. Your abilities are great!  The cost of your project is unbelievable.
My wife and I are going to be going by the art in about two weeks and we want to stop by and feel Gods spirit over whelm us as we praise our great and living God.

Hello, i was there one night, it was a odd experience, i was on the road with my husband, he's a trucker, well I was very tired, and lonely to see my children, and grandchildren, but this was our last stop, we had to deliver in Texas, it was about 4 in the morning, and I was very sleepy, i thought I was seeing things I saw this huge lighted cross, I asked my husband where we were, he said were in the truck, and i wanted to know, how , he got me to heaven, well I hadn't slept in days,   anyway, this was an experience I will never ever forget! to this day, I remember stopping, saying my prayers, and feeling like I was walking with him! well I'm thrilled I found your website, thanks for being there, I really needed the experience. thanks ,Susan

I just visited the cross last Monday and I was very blessed. The presence of God is there!!! As I was looking at the different stations all I could think about was, "My God, my sin did all of this to Jesus!"; when I got to the station where Jesus is hanging on the cross between the two thieves, I got to thinking about the blood of Jesus that was shed for us, and then all of a sudden I felt strength and power fill up in my spirit man. It was awesome! I am looking forward to visiting again.
God Bless

We had seen the Cross about 6 months ago and could not stop to see it. We were back this past week and stopped. What an inspiring place! It brought tears to my eyes to be so reminded of what Christ suffered for us, that we would have eternal life through him. This is truly a blessing to the world! Deanna & Jim Mangrum, Ca.

We were in Amarillo, weekend before last for the WRCA rodeo. Our pastor Randy Bird, has preached the Sunday morning service there at the civic center for the last 10 years or so, and they invited us to go with them this year. We were traveling west on I40, and saw the cross for about 20 miles. It was 1:30 in the morning, so the next morning we went back to Groom to look, and take some pictures. Some of them turned out pretty good.
God bless yall for all you are doing. Anytime we can get the peoples minds on our Lord, is great. It is hard to see this monument and not take time to reflect on what it represents.

Thank you &
God Bless

I wrote this a number of years ago after stopping at the Cross.

THE CROSS OF THE PLAINS

THE CROSS OF THE PLAINS
MAKES IT VERY PLAIN TO SEE
GOD CAN STILL DO WONDERS
USING EVEN YOU AND ME

THE CROSS STANDS TALL AND STATELY
ON THE BARREN TEXAS PLAIN
AS A SYMBOL TO THE TRAVELER
JESUS BOUGHT US WITH HIS PAIN

GOD TOLD JOEL THE PROPHET
THAT IN THE LATTER DAYS
YOUNG MEN WOULD SEE VISIONS
AND GOD ALWAYS DOES WHAT HE SAYS

GOD GAVE A VISION TO A YOUNG MAN
WHEN HE WAS A VERY YOUNG BOY
AND PREPARED HIM T FULFILL IT
WHILE HE STILL PLAYED WITH HIS TOYS

OUT OF ADVERSITY GOD BROUGHT HIM
AND MADE HIM AN ENGINEER
TO BRING THIS VISION TO FULFILLMENT
THAT HAD BEEN WITH HIM ALL THESE YEARS

SURROUNDING THE BASE
OF THE CROSS OF THE PLAINS
BRONZE STATUES OF JESUS
SHOW HIS AGONY AND PAIN

ON THE SIDE, A MOUND OF DIRT
REPRESENTS THE PLACE OF THE SKULL
THE CROSSES ON TOP OF THE MOUND
SHOWS HE DIED FOR ONE AND ALL

BRIGHT LIGHTS SHINE THROUGH THE NIGHT
THAT THE CROSS MAY BE SEEN BY ALL
AS THEY DRIVE ACROSS THE TEXAS PLAIN
WINTER, SPRING, SUMMER, AND FALL

ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY FEET
THE CROSS STANDS STATELY AND TALL
TO REMIND THE RUSHING TRAVELERS
JESUS DIED FOR ONE AND ALL

As a long haul truck driver I have driven pass the cross more times then I can count over the past 13 years.  I have had the opportunity to stop three times now (the best was in 2002 when my then 11 year old niece spent the month of July on the road with me).

She has always had a strong faith and even though the site was not as complete as it is to date it still brought her to tears.  She still talks about it to this day and the one section that truly impressed her was the memorial to the aborted babies.  That truly helped her when she goofed at the age of 17 and got pregnant.  She is now the proud mother of a 18 month old son named for my father (he passed in 1999).

My last stop was on 11-16-09 just about 1 hour before sunset.  It was only 46 degrees out and the wind was blowing around 10 to 20 mph.  I stopped to take pictures to put in care packages my company is putting together for our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.  The enclosed picture of Jesus on the cross was so wonderful (at least to me) that I wanted to share it with you.

I pray that God continues to put his hand in the project, especially in these hard times, so that you may continue and finish.  I am looking forward to the day when I will get to stop and attend services there sometime soon.
GOD BLESS

My husband and I stopped by to see this wonderful place on August 28, 2009.  We have driven by it numerous of times and did not realize that we could get so close and see everything the stations, the shroud, the calvary, just breathtaking and tugs at your heart.  We are long haul truckers and I watch everytime we go by to see how we could visit the Cross.  Well, when I was finally able to spot the entrance and said I found it, my husband and I weren't sure we could get a semi in there, until I said oh yes we can!  There are semis parked in the parking lot.  We have got to go.  So on our way back from the west coast, we stopped and oh how my heart went out to Jesus and the unborn children.  I took photos of everything I could and we even stopped in the gift shop.  This place is Holy!  You can feel it, experience it and it will bring tears to your eyes.  We stopped again today and we were able to shop in the gift shop and god leads us in the direction we need to be led in because God led us in the right direction for making wise purchases.  Thank you Jesus!  We will definitely stop again and visit.  Next time, I am hoping to make our Christmas ornament purchase.  This place is wonderful and I am thankful for everyone who put their thoughts and efforts in this to make this visible for everyone to see!  The Lord is wonderful and we shall praise his name forever!

Hi, I am 9 years old and I went from Madison, Wisconsin with my Grandma and Grandpa to Peoria, Az in August 2009 and we stopped to see the cross.

It was an awesome site to see and I am glad I got to see it. It was worth
stopping and seeing. I have shared my trip and pictures with my cub scout pack.

I want to say, "God bless the people and the hands of the people that were chosen to do this beautiful work."

This was my second trip to Groom, Texas.  The first stop we made was when my husband and my self were coming from a Veterans reunion in Washington D.C.  I want it to stop on the way to Washington D.C as soon as I saw the big Cross, but we couldn't do it.  So my husband promise me that we were going to stop on the way back home, in we did.

At that time we use to leave in Gilroy, California. Thank God and a very, very special person whom is an Instrument of God, he told us about New Mexico.  So when we came back from Washington D.C, we stopped in New Mexico in we loved it.  So now I thank God and the special person for his prayer that we moved to New Mexico, and that now we are closer to go see the Cross again.

On April 6, 2010 my husband and I, took my mom and a friend to see the cross.  I want it to do my Rosary, but I could not do it for the reason that I need it to keep in eye on my mother to make sure she didn't fall with the wind that was going on, on the day we went.  She uses a cane, in I was afraid she mite fall with the strong wind that was going on that day.  My mother is 80 years old, and she is a Cancer free person.  My mom loves the place.

I'm planning on going again as many times as I can.  Plus I would like to take some friends that are planning to move to New Mexico, or that are coming to visit us to see the cross.

God Bless you and everyone there.
