I hope to someday visit the cross, but right now it doesn't look likely but I think it is a beautiful thing and I know it will bless everyone that sees it or even sees the website.  I have been blessed just viewing the website  and listening to the music.   Thank you!!!!
May God richly bless you and everyone there!!!!

Several years ago, one of my co-workers and fellow Christian friends had traveled out your way.  They did not know about your construction, but saw if "from afar."  They continued to watch it until, it was time to make the turn and see it first hand.  Immediately, my friend's wife (who has a beautiful voice), walked to each station.  She was so overcome, that she sang the Old Rugged Cross as she cried and went from station to station.  Thank You for following the Holy Spirit direction and allowing him to use you for the good of all..... God Bless, Ron Moore, Robertsdale, Alabama

God bless all of you for the beautiful site- and all the hard work it took to praise our Lord--there is a place in God's arms for all of you--I hope I will be there with you -- may God bless  Terry   "terry calhoun" <calhount@sbcglobal.net>

That will just give you chills. That is so inspiring. thanks  "CHARLENE ROWE" <charlene.rowe@sbcglobal.net

I probably will never get to your site physically but it was beautiful to see. We have a large cross on the side of I75 in Lenoir City, Tennessee, about 50 miles from me and it inspires me each time I pass by. I will now try to get closer to it and see if there is anything near what you have. Thank you for this experience. Alda R., Tellico Plains, TN  lucycr@peoplepc.com

Beautiful!

I used to live in California with my daughter (who at the time was 4yrs) and each year we would travel to Arkansas to vist family. We always stopped to visit the Cross. We now live in Arkansas and don't go past anymore. I have many pictures of my little one at the amazing rest stop for us.

Thank You!!! (and your family) for amazing work! It holds a lot of fond memories for us!
Sincerely,
Melanie & Hailey

It is so wonderful that you have the cross and share it with the country. We need more cross's across our great country.
My son is a cross country truck driver and set us the address. To find it on the net.
I am going to have a small cross on my property in Jamul . For a small mediations garden to honor the loss of my husband and also for other to see as they drive past our property. In hopes many will stop and think of our  Lord Jesus and all he did for us.
We in the San Diego area are fighting to save a cross in San Diego and have been for some years.
Thank you

I can't began to tell you what a wonderful sight that is to see, God Bless you all. Worrywart243@aol.com

WHEN I SAW YOUR SITE, I HAD TEARS WELL UP IN MY EYES. YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE SERVED GOD IN THE MOST WONDERFUL WAY. IT HAS TAKEN ME SEVERAL YEARS TO BECOME A BELIEVER, BUT JESUS HAS CALLED TO ME AND I AM TRYING TO FOLLOW HIS WAYS. ALL OF US NEED TO HAVE FAITH AND BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. THANK YOU.  REBECCA BOWYER, EL PASO, TEXAS Txtigger50@aol.com

I lost my mother, age 88 years, and she was buried 05.03.06.  This has touched my heart in a way you will never know and I will make a point of finding the cross and visit it in person. My mother was a Christian and so am I.  This is awesome..
Carolyn   "Carolyn Thompson" <jasncartho@sbcglobal.net>

What a magnificent experience to see what God has done. I have sent this to the Sean Hannity show to get you some exposure. He is so mad about the cross being removed in San Diego this is just one more sign God will not abandon us no matter what the ACLU tries to do in America.
God Bless all of you. I can hardly wait to see it in person.

HEY, THOSE ARE  BEAUTIFUL PICTURES.. WE HAVE A CROSS HERE IN CALHON, TENN. LIKE YOURS. I  DON'T KNOW THE TONS BUT IT IS HUGE. YOU CAN SEE IT FOR A LONG WAY, OF COURSE WE HAVE LOTS OF HILLS AND TREES TO BLOCK THE VIEW. WE NEED MORE THINGS TO PROMOTE CHRIST AND OUR FLAG. THANKS M.LOVE
My wife and I just heard about it from a friend in Georgia. It's just BEAUTIFUL like our Father in Heaven.

We reside in West Palm Beach, Florida so don't believe we will be getting to see it in person any time soon.

May God Bless you all. Clark & Marion McIntire
The Cross is so beautiful- so inspiring- Thank you for sharing the Cross on a web page.
I pray that those who would like to see the Cross taken away- that the Holy spirit will touch their hearts- and that they will flee the devil. What is happening here in America is the devil is trying to take control. Our God is so mighty- so strong- there is nothing that He can't do for us. I say- God is on the Throne- and whatever we do in this life  we  will be  held  responsible  for- God have mercy on those who would even think of getting rid of "THE CROSS". "Father Forgive them- for they know not what they do"

Sincerely a sight to see and one you will never forget, the sight or feeling there. While traveling to Albuquerque New Mexico in the year 2000, we were traveling and talking, and; all of a sudden out of the clear blue sky I told my husband, there is a cross out there in no mans land and we keep watching, the closer we got the bigger it got. Well we went on and upon arrival I told our friends we saw something amazing out in nowhere land, there was the largest cross I had seen. Well on our way back to Oklahoma, as we were traveling, I said; I want pictures of that cross so we started taking pictures, stopping and taking more, the closer we got, so we stopped along the road and I said there our people there, and a semi; lets go see and to my amusement when we got there, sure, there were people but it was the 13 stages of Jesus we saw. Oh the time we spent and the pleasure and peacefulness we felt made our trip so special. well, to this day we travel to Albuquerque at least once a year April or May and usually back in Sept or Oct and we stop going and coming for the peace we feel there. If for some reason it would be late at night we still drive up there set in car and feel the peace and take in the beauty of the sight. We are going again this year May and Oct. and you will bet we will stop again. Now unless we did not see or it has been done but there need to be signs both ways telling of this gorgeous sight. God sight never to be forgotten and this sight talked about to others and recommend there seeing if ever going that way. We have also visited Eurecka for the statue of Christ and passion play that is something in itself to see his eye never leave you. Oh the play is beautiful but I will never forget the feeling within and the tears when I saw the tomb open and the sight I saw and the feeling I had when he rose to the sky.

Oh God bless all those involved, the hours and the prayers, the feelings knowing Christ and the rewards we receive I can not say enough about this cross and surrounding and the statue at eureka everyone need to see the beauty of both. God bless everyone   for all who believe, enter either sight the cross or statue all the worker for hours given, all who give volunteer and give so freely of themselves even donations I say God bless. Please take care and know God cares

When the golden sun is setting and this life no more you trod your name in gold will be written in the autograph of God.

On this Memorial week end - Beautiful- Putting in my Save Mail so I can refer back, the music I could listen and never tire. "The Old Rugged Cross" Nothing could be more beautiful.
Just lost my husband the passed away April 17-2006. Our family celebrated Easter and having pictures taken which made our 4 generation with our Great Grandson.-this was perfect timing have  one generation pass and a new on begin all on Easter Sunday weekend.
Prayers  "Mary Danilson" <Marybd@mchsi.com>

I was quite blessed when I saw this e-mail of your tremendous works.
That is awesome. I was among the first 175 people in 1988 arrested in
Austin Tx for standing in front of an abortion clinic singing and praying.
A year later I was serving 21 days in jail where I was given the
opportunity to lead 12 people to Christ. Today I am so blessed to go to
church with some children that were saved at the rescues in Austin. God is
awesome. Keep up the good work.

A church member e-mailed me about your site and as I viewed the glorious pictures taken my heart and spirit were touched. I pastor Southside Assembly of God in Beaumont and I intend to tell our church members about your site and encourage them to visit the website and if possible visit the Cross at Groom. Thank you for your determination in accomplishing this great honor to our Lord and Savior for all the world to see.  Randy Trotter, Pastor, Southside Assembly of God.

Our family visited the cross on vacation in the summer of 2000. We didn't even realize it was there, until we saw it in the distance. As we approached decided to check it out and were greeted with such a wonderful blessing!

This summer our family, including my parents, are taking a road trip together and we have already been bugging my dad to make the cross a definite stop on our journey! My dad is a pastor and I know he and mom will be as blessed as we were.

Our kids were fairly little then, but they still remember it and are looking forward to going again!

God bless you richly!

I HAD TO TELL YOU THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I HAVE EVER SEE ON MY COMPUTER AND WANT TO THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR MAKING IT POSSIBLE.

Thanks for freely sharing,   Elfreida Hinshaw,Weatherford, Tx.

I am planning on bringing my family there this summer so I was looking at your website. I noticed a place where folks could send emails in about experiences they may have had there. I felt like sharing a touching story with you that took place about 4 years ago.
My wife and I were traveling with our two young children (Donald 3 and Ashlyn 1) on our way to a National Campmeeting in Monark Springs, Missouri. Weary travelers on the highway, we were easily drawn to the biggest cross we had ever seen.(This is no small matter because I am the type of driver who stops only for gas or a hotel; usually late at night.
Needless to say, we were blown away by the cross and various statues depicting scenes of the Lord's life. I was especially touched by the scene where our Lord was prostrate in the dirt beneath the weight of his cross, but what touched me the most was my 3 yr old son's reaction to the shrine for aborted children.
Upon seeing the statue of Jesus crying as he lovingly beheld the small baby lying in his palm, my son affectionately put his little arm around Jesus' neck and shoulders. Next he leaned in close and said, "Don't cry Jesus, it will be alright."
I just wanted to share with you the magnitude of your efforts and how much they reach even little children. We look forward to seeing you this summer.

Love and Peace

Coming back home from a vacation to Long Beach, CA, to visit with our daughter in July of 1999, we were coming down I-40 and saw the cross . We had to stop and see it. Everything was not completed then but it was still a moving experience. Just wanted to let you know this is the most awsome and touching place we have ever been. You can just feel the presence of the Lord there. It was an experience we will never forget. Thank you for the vision of this project and the will to complete it. Everyone should see this magnificent cross and site and feel the peace and presence of the spirit there. Donnie & June Liles in Bailey, North Carolina.

THIS INFORMATION AND PICTURES ARE BEYOND WORDS TO DESCRIBE. SO PRECIOUS.

On Interstate 40 returning from Nashville , Tennessee we observed the Cross from the highway and decided to get a closer look.    We were in awe of the marvelous display of the Stations of the Cross and the Crucifixion. It was the most exhilarating feeling – almost as though it was live and we were witnessing everything first hand. Truly an experience we will never forget.  We plan to share our photos with our family, friends and church members. Our thanks to the Thomases and all involved for a job well done. This was just beautiful, and the other things were great. Loved the music. "mildred Tatum" <mftatum@webtv.net>

While traveling from Maryland to California with my nephew and his beautiful wife in July, 2006, we came upon this amazing sight!  As you are driving on I-40 in Texas the Cross rises up as though God had placed it there just for you to see!  At first, we thought we would just pull over and take pictures, but instead we ventured off I-40 and followed the signs the short distance to the "Cross."  To our amazement we were in for a blessing beyond description.  The beautiful, life-size depictions of the Stations of the Cross, Calvary, The Lord's Supper, the empty Tomb, all of it is just beyond explanation of how it affects you . . . it is one of the most humbling experiences I've ever had.  Thank you to all who felt called to provide such a blessing to the rest of us!  We consider ourselves blessed . . . and so will you!  In His Love, Sue McDonald, Maryland (and Corinna Slade, California)

I came across this awesome cross on July 26, 2006 while traveling alone from California.  I recently lost my only child and God has led me to relocate to Georgia, this was about halfway thru my trip across country and something that I truly needed to revive myself!  What a blessed and holy place, an extremely emotional event yet well worth the stop!  Thank you very much for sharing Christ's love for us, to the world!
In His Grip,

I was so happy to be here on Sunday 8-13-06.  I was passing through Texas and didn't get a chance to go to church this day. I saw a huge cross from the interstate and had to stop.  I was reminded how Jesus took the cross for my freedom.  I pray that my children could feel the same way I did.  I pray that others will find the truth as I did.  What an awesome sight to see.  Thank-you.....................Elaine Karadi

I saw the Cross for the second time in March of 2006. This time I had to stop. It is without question the most beautiful and serene place on
earth. You were closed when I was there. Next time I will time my trip better so the shop is open.
This proves that all things are possible through CHRIST who strengthens me. May GOD continue to bless you and this wonderful stop.
Your Brother in CHRIST,  Richard Campbell, Phx. Az.
My husband and I visited the Cross, June 2006.  I was overcome with tears of joy and repentance.  Thank you for sharing this with all of us and for bringing the true meaning of The Cross to all who come here.  God bless you.  Gene/Anita Downing from Az.
It is awesome.   I really did love it, it is so large, and so rewarding just to drive by it.    We have driven by it twice and I am anxious to go again one of these days. Wanda Jones  -  Brownfield, Tx.

I would like to say, God bless you, and keep me in your prayers. My comment is I would like to choose the right path to Christ. I myself have suffered with my family but I know Jesus had suffered so greatly on that cross for me. Thank you for letting me share my comments. -----Yours in Christ------Christy

My wife and I went on a trip from Arizona to Florida in September of
2006. As we drove across Interstate 40 heading east we noticed this
cross as we approached Groom, TX.

We both were amazed at the size of the cross but unfortunately didn't
have time to stop. We cut our vacation a little short (2 days) and as
we drove back from Florida we decided that Groom, TX was going to be a
stop.

We commenced our return trip from Florida. Got to Amarillo and stopped
for the night anticipating our stop at Groom.

We saw the cross and I could feel my heart starting to race as we got
closer and the cross kept getting bigger and bigger. When we arrived
at the site of the cross my wife and i both prayed and thanked God for
this site. Then we began our walk.

The bronze statues were impressive but as we starting taking pictures
(4 rolls to be exact) the more we were overwhelmed by all the stations
of the cross. As we took pictures and walked all I could think about
was that this man/God. This Christ child died for me. I knelt in
front
of the crucifix and prayed and thanked God for giving the person who
designed and created all these statues that ability and the vision that
it took to recreate these scenes.

I want to thank Cross Ministries for maintaining this area and I want
to lift them in prayer as they continue this terrific ministry for all
of us weary travelers that know and love God.

Thank you from the bottom of my grateful heart.

Yours in Christ +

We were driving through on our way to the NM Balloon Fiesta and stopped on our way back. It was so beautiful. I saw the big cross and was surprised to see all the life sized bronze statues of the Stations of the Cross. They were so beautiful that I was moved to tears by the time I got to the 12th station. I hope to visit again and bring some of my family members so they can see how awesome it is!

I saw the large cross from a distance as I drove along I-40 a couple of weeks ago. Thinking that the cross was all there was there I nearly drove past! When I saw the three crosses on the hill I turned around and went back. What a blessing I received that day!! I felt my Savior take my hand and go to each station with me. When I stood in front of Jesus hanging there I reached up and touched Him and rededicated my life to Him. I sat in the car before leaving and called my husband to tell him about it - he told me he had been there a few years ago (we've only been married a year) while driving his truck. We both agreed that it's impossible to leave the same way you came. I only wish it was closer to where I live in Oregon so I could visit often. Thank you for a little piece of Heaven here on earth.

My daughter & I were travelling with family from Pennsylvania to Arizona when we heard about the Cross in Groom, Texas. We weren't planning on stopping, but when we saw the Cross from the road, we had to stop. It was so beautiful. In this picture, my daughter noticed Jesus was crying and started to rub his Head to comfort Him.  She told him, "It's okay, don't cry." Then she put her head on His shoulder and her hand on the baby He was holding. I took alot of pictures that day, but this one is by far my favorite because of the experience attached to it. When we stopped by the cross the first time, we had such a nice visit that we made it a point to stop on our way home. I tell everyone I know about how beautiful it is at the Cross. Thank you for the wonderful experience! - Michele & Anna

ONCE AGAIN

I must take a minute to say "What A Marvelous
Idea - The Cross - tall enough for all to see,
for all to ponder upon what it signifies.  It is a
replica only; but the significance behind it is so
very real-my mind goes back - when I think about
Christ hanging on that old rugged cross-I cannot
help but weep and feel the power of the Holy Spirit.
Oh - what a price to pay for you and I
who are sinners - saved by Grace.

Thank You for this idea and it is my desire that
as many that view this magnificent cross - will think
and meditate on its significance.

"He was wounded -for our transgressions-bruised
for our iniquities-the chastisement of our
peace was upon him and by his stripes we
are healed."   ISIAH

Thank You again for the cross-all the monuments
and statues/the book store, etc.
which reminds us of OUR LORD AND
SAVIOR - JESUS CHRIST

I have been struggling with depression, almost constant anxiety and doubt for the last five years. Recently I moved to Mo and during my drive to my new home I came upon this place. I didn't know why but I had to stop. The second I stepped foot out of our truck, I was overcome with this sense of peace and calm it was like all of my struggles for the last five years was instantly gone. My almost constant feeling of Anxiety was gone immediately. We spent over two hours taking in everything. All I have to say is it was a Life changing experience I have no doubt and I have given myself to him. I read the bible daily now & I have not suffered any depression or anxiety since. God Bless you all for showing me what he has given us all, it is truly a Gift.

To the Cross.
Thanks for the place of rest and peace. It is so beautiful. On November2,2006 I had a very blessed day. I stopped at the
Oklahoma City Memorial. Then stopped at the Cross. What a special day. The staff in the gift shop were very helpful.
They helped make my stop so great. Hope to stop again soon.

I thank you very much for bring many of us together at time when faith and hope in our fellow man needs to be strengthened. As a writer of poetry I've written a book and one poem I wrote sitting along side the TX cross. I now placed it in my book with a picture of a cross every loves the words. May God bless you and all your work, as you have now given many of us childhood love, joy, peace, faith, and hope back as we have a place to go to remember the Sacrifices made for us.

My 83 year old mother and myself were traveling west to Calif. (home) on Rt. 40 when we saw the first sign about inspiration. I mentioned I'd mentioned I'd like to stop by. She wasn't to sure about it but then we saw in the distance the top part of the cross. Well, we stopped, and she was so inspired, she cried while going through the stations. I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. I would like to stop again some day. Thank you for building this.

God Bless...Patty Zornes and mother Mary Hagan
I am not a religious person, but when My mother and myself drove by the cross, we felt something. I had to pull off the highway and take a look. I loved it. I showed pictures to my friends and there is one person that really wants to go.

I visited your work of art in person several years ago while traveling from my home in Tennessee to my sister's in New Mexico.  I took many photos and literally stood in awe at the magnitude and beauty of the cross and the other replicas of Jesus' life.  My home church is going through a huge split, and my husband and I are trying to put the pieces back together again.  I was feeling like it was an impossibility, and then I found the little pink paper that I had stashed away years ago with your website on it..... to look at later when I had more time..... today was the day I went to the website, and I was reminded of the overwhelming task that Jesus endured, and then of the impossible task of those who painstakingly built this cross.  At this moment I feel, once again, that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  Thanks to all who had a part in the building of this wonderful place.  Debra Hopkinson in Clinton, Tennessee

I used to live in groom, Texas from about 1981 - 1985 and again from 1987 - 1989. A friend of mine, also from Groom just sent this link to me. It makes me so proud to see such a magnificent monument to our savior in a town I once lived. I WILL be down to visit this cross. AWESOME! I now live in Avon, Indiana and am planning a trip some day soon as I type. I can't wait to be there.
Thanks. John Swafford
I am soon to be 66 years old, and my husband and I have fallen on very hard times.  We live in California, and after 34 years with the Railroad, he is no longer able to do his job because of Post Traumatic Syndrome from his duty in Viet Nam,  He is too young to receive his retirement until he  turns 60 years old. So we received no income for a year, and a friend that lives in Garland Texas has opened her arms and home for us to have a place to live and start over. I received your site of the cross today and now I know why God is sending us to Texas, He has plans for us.  Thank you for what you have done in honoring his name and letting the world know the true kings name.  This has given me strength to go on and actually I anticipate my moving to Texas just so I can go to the cross.  God bless you and yours and all who take a moment to stop and visit our sweet Jesus.

Wow! What an amazing testimony to your faith and what a wonderful gift you are sharing with the world! Thank you for your love of Christ and for sharing His love with the world and everyone who passes by. As a Christmas gift to our family, my husband gave us a driving tour of the southern United States. We visited many beautiful places but nothing as awesome, heart wrenching, or inspiring as the sight of the beautiful cross. I am speechless to describe the feelings that we felt while visiting the cross. We all felt that we were on sacred ground. Thank you seems so small but that is all we can say. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Betty Poteat     Inman, South Carolina

Today I sit praying, crying out to God about my  life. We used to go to the Cross when we were inspired to celebrate, or hurting for a touch from His Spirit. He is there. Michael, our late son thought it was "awsome", and he was right. Today Michael sits with the Father, with Jesus and the cross is not his concern. But, it is still my way, through Jesus' sufferings on it, to God, my Father.

Today is particularly difficult as I have lost my job and am struggling with my spirit to fight on. Where Michael is, is where I want to be, yet I struggle to wait on God. My prayer today is that You, Holy Spirit will guide me, bring peace to me and take my struggle to God (Romans 8:26) for His Hand to heal. Once, when I went into the empty tomb, I was struck by the beauty and strength of the kneeling angel there. I wanted to put that same replication on Michael's grave, but it couldn't be. But, I know that God has placed an angel just as beautiful and strong and masculine at my son's grave, because he comforts me when I am there.

Dear God, in the shadow of your magnificent cross I find hope, I seek peace, and I expect Your healing.

Steve and Barbara, thank you for being vessels. Thanks be to God that you have been led to build this beautiful monument to our Living Jesus. And, thank God, He is not only not in the grave, He is no longer on the cross either. I find comfort that He is where I will someday be.

Sincerely, lee cornelison

WOW!   Thank you Mr. Steven Thomas for listening to God and building this amazing, life changing sanctuary.  Two years ago, my children and I traveled from Cleveland to Arizona to help my sister and her family move out to Arizona.  On the way out there we saw a huge cross next to the freeway it looked like it was floating in the air and then when passing through Texas in the distance I saw this huge cross again.   I knew we were meant to go there because there is no such thing as coincidence.  We did and WOW how amazing it was.  I video taped and the kids took lots of pictures.  I just felt this peace about this sanctuary that you had erected for our Lord and this urge that came over me to want to share it with everyone I knew and didn't know.  This peace was like the feeling when a child is in the arms of its parent and you just feel like you belong there.  The Holy Spirit was ever so present and the immediate thought was "You have to build this in your city".  WOW!  This was a huge leap of faith, I immediately told my sister and my kids I'm going to build this in Euclid, Ohio.  Now you have to understand my circumstance of life, that no one in their worldly mind would even think of uttering those words.  My circumstances have made me stronger and closer to God.  I'm a single mom of 3 children that grew up with domestic violence and then married (16 yrs.) into it,  a trying divorce for 5 of those years because he doesn't want any marital debt, but we came into debt because of his drug and alcohol abuse.  My son is hospitalized for 35 days and diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and then given an ostomy bag because his colon was diverted and he was 10 at the time...we believe God has healed him (Jacob), the ostomy is gone and he feels like a normal kid again.  There are many more amazing things that were happening that were headed for the bad, but God thought me to rely on him, sow my seeds, and have no fear that He would take care of everything.  He is soo awesome  because He has done things that I would have never imagined to do...way better then my plans were.  I see more clearly now what my purpose is and I keep striving towards it with urgency.  Steven I would love to talk to you about how you could help me bring this Honor to our Lord Jesus Christ to a city where people are trying to move from problems instead of facing them.  The people are hungry for LOVE and I am willing to be the vessel to bring it to them.  God has shown me a location for the Cross Ministry and I drive by it and call it as if it were already mine.  When God says something you can't let fear stand in your way...you must believe.

We visited the cross this past week on our way home to Kansas after vacationing in Calif. We had stopped once before several years ago and were pleased to see the additions. What a testimony it is, keep up the good work.

Your web site was sent to me by one of my online friends whom I have yet to meet in the flesh, but whom I care for a great deal.
I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful place, that I one day would love to see in the flesh.  As I read the story and viewed the pictures, tears streamed down my face.  They are still flowing as I write this.  Yes, I will share it with as many as I can.  I will also view it often.

My brother, his wife and I just passed thru Groom tx. last week and stopped off at the cross. It was really inspiring and such a beautiful sight to behold.I am sure I will visit again. the only disappointment was, there were no post cards to buy to send to friends. But I did get on line when I got home to az.and found the story most inpiring on how it came to be. I'm sure that the sight will be visited by many who hear of it and I will be sure to tell my friends about it.

I visited the beautiful Cross of Our Lord Jeses Christ on May 29, 2007 and it truly was a blessing to me.  I have traveled Inst. 40 many times, but never knew about the beautiful Cross.  I will share information about this website with all my friends.  I want to thank the people of Groom and the Thomas family for building this wonderful Christian attraction to be shared with all the U.S. and the world to remind others about the Savior who died on the Cross that we might have forgiveness for our sins.  Again, I pray that God bestows many blessings upon all the builders who assisted in any way to make The Cross possible for all of us to enjoy.  Nancy in Bonham, Texas
I stopped at the Cross on my way home to Kingsburg, California, on June
15, 2007, from a NASH Family Reunion in Caledonia, Missouri.
I had passed it on my way to Missouri, but did not stop, and made sure
to stop on my way home.

Thank God I did. It was Truly A Blessing !!
I sincerely hope some day to visit in person again, but until then, I
will visit your Wonderful Website, and will Share the Joys and Blessings
with as many people as I can.

God Bless Everyone, and especially those who made this possible.

Leaving Amarillo, TX and noticed the most beautiful sight in my travels besides his wonderful creations was the cross.  My husband and I had to stop to view closer.  When we arrived to the location, to my surprise the whole area was the most amazing site I have seen in my travels.  As I walked the stairs to view the 3 crucifixion crosses closer I had the most wonderfully peaceful feelings of love surrounding me, it was truly unbelievable and non-descriptive. We need more of these constructed throughout the country.  Thanks   R.York

My husband and I visited your cross a few years back and have never forgotten it.  We recommend it highly to anyone.  I have the link to your website on my blog page.  May God bless you all for the wonderful work you have done and continue to do.  I hope to visit again someday to see what progress you have made on the site.  The waterfall and tomb were still under construction when we were there last.
God Bless You.

I have been having quite a difficult time of late and your website inspired me.  I have been feeling sorry for myself lately and wow – what a wake up call!  My “lot in life” is nothing compared to the sacrifice Our Lord made for us.  Thank you for sharing this wonderful place with the world.  I have book marked the website on my computer to return to whenever things aren’t going as well as I would like them to or to just bask in Jesus’ love for me.  Not only do I wish to see this wonderful place in person, but I must pass this link on to all my e-mail family and friends so they too can enjoy this inspiring and uplifting site.

Thank you again and have a blessed day!

As my husband, Richard, and I turned from the interstate to travel north to Pampa to visit my mother-in-law, we would always see the cross.  One day we made a special trip to Groom to see this wondrous sight.  We were touched in an awesome way. The Spirit of the Lord surely rests upon this holy ground.  Thank you for sharing your bounty with all of us. It is a powerful witness.

In July 2007 my 13 year old grandson and I left our Goleta, California home (near Santa Barbara) on a month long odyssey. I drove and he navigated over 8,000 miles crossing 18 states. Along our way we discovered a glorious sight. Far in the distance we saw the cross and had to find it for an closer view. We were amazed by it's size and thrilled to find this beautiful, restful, inspirational site. It is not possible to describe the splendor of this place. It is not simply another tourist attraction but something one feels....a feeling that lasted long after we drove away. Although the highway sounds are nearby there is a powerful feeling of reverence.
When asked about the highlights of our trip we recall the many national parks, visits with family and attempt to describe the spectacular cross that seems to rise up and touch so many.
God Bless your mission.

A friend recently sent me your website. The sculpture is magnificent and the music is gorgeous. Makes me want to come see it in person if we are ever near Groom, Tx. What a ministry to point others to our Saviour Jesus Christ. Thank you for all your hard work and wonderful planning. God continue to bless each of you as you serve Him. --Ruth and Jerry Amos, Leggett, Texas

Praise God for the work you have done to bring Him honor and glory. May the power of God touch the hearts of those who do not know Him. May this cross bear witness to the mighty love of God for us....who do not deserve His love, but at His calling are made His children and reconciled back to Him....through the shed blood of His precious son, Jesus, on that cross.

God bless you and strengthen you.

In 1995 or 1996, several of us made a trip to the Texas State Agriculture Teachers Conference, held that year in Amarillo .  On the way back, another driver took a wrong turn and we ended up passing this magnificent cross.  I knew I would never forget it, though we didn't stop to see it up close.  About a week ago, a friend emailed me pictures of this cross and I knew it had to be the cross I had seen.  Though I did not see the Stations of the Cross, the one large Cross was absolutely breathtaking.  I pray that God Blesses and touches the lives of all who planned, developed, built, assembled and continues to maintain this message of our Lord.  I pray that all who see this place or web site know God is mighty and great.  I am awe struck by the things God makes possible and was so excited to see this web site, so that I could visualize the magnitude of this place.  May God Bless.

Where is Groom Texas?   I want to see this!   I would like to  help get world wide attention to this amazing construction and I want one in every state in the United States.  I've prayed for revival across America.   It would be nice to have a small sanctuary with a few seats or altars where truckers or folks passing by could stop and ask Jesus into their hearts. I noticed a few trucks on the highway.   If this statue makes us tremble in awe,  I can only imagine what the real experience is going to be like!   Thank you.   fran grubb.

OH MY GOD!  I have never seen anything like this before.  I could feel His presence just from visiting the website. I can only imagine what it will be like when I get the opportunity to visit in person.  It is my desire to visit or at least send my Pastor and his wife there to visit.  Thank you so much! Hello,
It was only two months ago, friends of my husband and I were on our way to Durango, Colorado. We stop by to spend moments at the cross and in the gift shop. My husband and I had in the past seen this cross, on our way to visit his family in Northern California. We had stopped by one other time. Know this could not have been built for us without Christ being in it with you and we Glorify Him for All the blessings we received during our moments visiting the Cross. Very Touching!!
Grace to you and those you love with His peace that surpasses all our understanding,

The erection of this giant cross is an true example of the life, death and the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I appreciate those who contributed funds, time and energy to expose the greatest sacrifice of God the Creator and Supreme Architect of this universe.

We first found the Cross in 2000 and from the photos online, it is time for another visit.  Of all the stops we have made along our travels, this one is the most heart-touching of them all.  Thank you for the blessing.

I have just had the pleasure of receiving this email. This is awesome. I wish I had known about this a week ago as my husband & I made a trip of 1100 miles from South Georgia to Fort Sill Oklahoma for our sons graduation from basic training. Had I known about this @ that time, we would have traveled the extra miles to see this spectacular creation. I can't wait to get to heaven & see God Almighty in person to thank Him for what he has done for me. Thank you for what this may do for the many people who pass by it daily. I can only imagine how many may come to know my Jesus as a result of your creation.

Sincerely Glenda Long
I am just awe struck and am wanting directions.  I would love to see it in person.  I'm going to share this site with as many people as possible.  I'm just sooooo amazed.

Thank you so much for this encouragement.  What a gift.

I used to live in the Amarillo area for years and yes you can see it form 20 miles away, but it is amazing what you forget over the years and just when you need someone to lift your spirits, that is what the cross does.   Thank you  for your hard work to help someone who is 8 hours away right now.  J Armstrong

We just got back from a trip to Mo. and Okla. and going on Rt. 40 we saw the huge Cross from the highway and we commented on it but we went on. Coming back we saw it again and talked about it again. We didn't see any signs about it on the road so we came on home and after we got home we got an email from a friend telling us all about it. WE got on the internet and saw the pictures of it and were so sorry that we missed it. There should be a sign on Rt. 40 telling about it. I noticed the sign saying Groom was there because that was my grandmas name before she was married. We want to go back soon to see this amazing place. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful tribute to CHRIST.  Marijane and Carroll Colvin    Kingman, AZ

I understand Steve Thomas and his family were behind this and that Steve is Zach Thomas' father.  WOW!  That's really cool, if it's true.  I am a born again Christian and my husband is a devout Catholic.  We were both married before and have children from those marriages.  When we got married, we didn't anticipate adding to our family as my husband was told he couldn't have children and so adopted in his first marriage.

Well, a long story short, we found out he very much COULD have children as at 39 yrs old I became pregnant!  My two boys were 17 and 14 at the time so it was a significant difference in age.   But our baby was a WONDERFUL surprise and made us believe God had blessed our marriage by giving us
a beautiful baby boy.  Both being Miami Dolphin fans, we happily named him after our favorite player, Zach Thomas!

His photo is attached, taken a year ago in his room with his favorite player FatHead!   :0)  Enjoy!

The site is so moving. God works in mysterious ways, surely. Today I received news that a friend has terminal cancer in most of her body, and a few minutes later another friend (who knows nothing of the first) sent me this site). I feel at peace. Thank you.

I just wanted you to be aware of the life changing experience I had at the cross in Groom, TX.   My husband and I were returning to Oklahoma and we stopped at the cross.  At that time I was attending church and faithfully praying for my husband's salvation.  His drinking and behavior seemed to get worse rather than better.  It was on this particular day that I reached "enough".  As we traveled home I made up my mind that I was going to leave my husband.   I was shocked when we spotted the cross and he wanted to stop as much as I did.  As we walked around I began praying for my husband and our marriage.   I did not abandon the idea that I was leaving but God saw my hopelessness and He moved in a mighty way.  My husband is not only saved today but he is a preacher spreading God's word every where he goes.  When he got saved......he really got saved!!!!   No alcohol, no tobacco, no curse words,  full of joy and compassion for the souls of others.   I have to take this opportunity to praise God for hearing my prayers at the cross and saving my husband and my marriage.    Thank you God!

Not sure if I will ever be able to come see in person but your website is so beautiful and it did my heart wonders to read and look at the pictures. I have Mini Donkeys, the ones that have the Jesus Cross on their backs and so I don't know if I could find someone I would trust to feed them while I make that trip to see the cross. God Bless You and Your Family!
Sincerely,
Kat

I was unaware of this beautiful place until I received an email from my mother with some pictures. I forwarded the email on to friends. Know that I know exactly where this place is located, I am going to plan a trip to take the family. Thanks for building this beautiful tribute to our Lord Jesus Christ.

What a truly remarkable blessing! Viewing on the web just gave me chills of joy and knowing this was made in the Lord's comfort.

Thank you so very much for the work you did in Texas in putting up such a wonderful site for our Savior! And for this web site. I like to come here to pray for our nation and thank God for all he's done for us. It's an inspiration to read the guest book and see just how many other people feel as I did when I visited this site in Groom, TX.  Words cannot express the feelings that come from so deep within my soul. I can see that others have had the same experience when they were there. I truly feel like I've walked on Holy Ground! I was extremely  touched by the statue of Jesus holding the unborn baby and it gave me peace that my own was in His hands. I was so awestruck by being there that I couldn't drive my car - I just sat there for awhile and wept over what God did for us through Jesus. As for all of you involved in designing and putting up this memorial, I am reminded of the song "Thank you for Serving the Lord". I know that when we are in heaven there will be a line of people there to thank you for being instrumental in their being there. Linda VanMarter

I spent last week in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahama with my fifteen year old daughter and the place I remember most is the cross at Groom. Amazing!   Marian from Granborough, England

Hello,

I am so pleased to write to you .  I want to tell you I drove from Ca. to Fl to see my aunt Bonnie , the month of Sept. 2007.  My uncle Ray drove me there and back.  On the way, he mentioned this beautiful cross that he and his now deceased wife, Ann, had stopped many times to see, and told me he wanted me to see it .  I did. We stayed over an hour and half there.  Of course , I took pictures.  I was soooo thankful to be THERE.  It is a soul inspiring place to be.  You just don’t want to leave.  I think this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in this world, in my 60 years .  Truly. Thank you for building this earthly reminder in a beautiful spirit and way of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Thank you so much. I will always always remember the elder man that was “on duty” in the gift shop………he was so sweet, kind, and deeply intelligent, with grace.  I didn’t get his name, but he walked with a cane. I will always remember his kindly manner.  A brief meeting, but we did meet there that day. Thank you again.  I just had to sit down, and hope someone reads my message and that it matters to hear these words.

God Bless you, Rosemary Sofes

I will always remember August 26, 1999 – My 16 yr old son was having one of his many knee surgeries in another state, my wife was with him, but I had to be traveling in west Texas & was kind of preoccupied & worried about him all that day when I came upon the huge cross that I had begun to see from miles away along I-40.  I stopped to see what it was all about & found it to be the most perfect spot in the world to say a prayer for my son on that day – the surgery went well, I he was able to play his junior year of football which was very important to him (and his Dad) & much to my surprise I learned that the cross had a “football” connection too, thanks to Mr. Thomas & his commitment.  Just wanted you to know I will always remember that day & how I know now that I was guided to that CROSS and all that it means.  Thank you & God Bless. G Miller

Just looking at this brought tears of joy to my eyes and a feeling in my heart that I could not explain. I will be making the trip from Tampa , Florida as soon as I can.

Thank you so much for this!! Scott

I live in Kentucky and my brother is a long haul trucker He called me tonight and told me of stopping by Groom, Texas and seeing all these beautiful crosses with Jesus. It moved his girlfriend to tears who had never seen this before and it was so emotional to watch her looking and admiring, he stood with tears streaming down his face. It made tears come to my eyes just listening to him talk of this place and when we finished our conversation I got on the computer to find this website. I was deeply moved by the pictures. Maybe someday I will be able to see them in person.

May God continue to bless you all.  I hope that some day  I will be able to make it to Texas to see this absolutely amazing place.  Just looking at the pictures, made tears come to my eyes, gave me chills.  God was really with you all in this exquisite masterpiece.  I will tell everyone i know to atleast visit this site.  And something that is even more amazing is that I have been  a miami dolphin fan for as long as i can remember, and seeing that Zach is not only your son, but helped in this really touches me.  Now i truly believe that there is a reason for everything, and that all things are possible with HIM.

GOD BLESS.

I visited the Cross on Good Friday 03.21.08. I work in an office environment 60 hours a week and ride motorcycles for relaxation in my off time. I had Thursday and Friday off with nothing planned. For several weeks I researched different places I could ride to and prayed about what to do with my time off. God placed a burden on my heart to be at the Foot of His Cross on Good Friday. For a week prior to the 950 mile ride (round trip) I asked several friends to go. I thought this would make a great group ride. One after another they declined, all for good reason. God told me He wanted some time alone with me and He was closing door after door that I tried to open to avoid time alone with Him. I left on my journey without a reservation on the other end at noon Thursday knowing it would be dark when I reached the Panhandle area. I missed my turn at Clarendon and ended up in Amarillo at 7:45 p.m. The first motel I pulled into had one room left that would accommodate what I was requesting. It was perfect! Did God ever do anything for any of us that wasn't perfect? The trip so far was uneventful, there were Christian stations to listen to on the radio every mile of the way, and now He had provided exactly what I asked for in a motel room. I woke up at 4:00 a.m. (alarm was set for six) with the Holy Spirit telling me to get up and spend some time with Him before I started my 30 mile trek to the Cross. After 10-15 minutes of arguing with Him and trying to go back to sleep, I gave in. I got to the desk in my room and read the last three chapters of Matthew from my NAS version to prepare myself for the day that God had planned for me. I prayed for a while and then packed and hit road at 7:00 a.m. Friday morning. After a brief stop for fuel and to find my glove liners, it was cold and my fingers were frozen, I was on my way. At approximately 7:50 a.m. the sun peeked over the horizon and gave me the first glimpse of the Mighty Cross from seven miles away. The sun was as a glowing orange ball that morning behind the Cross. It was magnificent! Anticipation began to grow inside of me of what I was about to see. I exited the highway and pulled into the parking lot at 8:00 AM as the caretaker was unlocking the gift shop. He welcomed me. I was in the middle of a Holy Ground and a Mighty God Ordained Work. About 8:15 my oldest son called as he was en-route from Georgetown to Dallas. I walked from one display to another trying to explain what I was seeing and how God was touching me at that very moment for taking the time to spend with Him on this Good Friday. Everything was so moving. I paid particularly close attention to the Crucifixion display and the way Jesus laid there and allowed himself to be nailed to the Cross for my sins. The pain that he experienced could be seen in his face. The nails were huge that were used to pierce His Precious Flesh. I thought of a song I recently heard that stated that the pain, the blood, nails were real. I don't know that I was ever so aware of the what went on at the Cross so much as I was when I saw this display. The Holy Spirit made this so real to me at that moment. The hatred could be seen in the soldiers face as he pounded the nails into our Lord. The excruciating pain was revealed on the Face of Jesus. Then in the next display, the holes in the hands and feet from the nails were very moving. When my mother passed away last Nov 8, I was in the room as she breathed her last. The last words I spoke to her were, "let go Mom. It's okay. Run to Jesus". At that moment, in my minds eye I could see a nail scarred hand outstretched to my mother to welcome her home. When I saw your display at Groom, I again saw the same nail scarred hand. It wasn't a sad time, but a happy remembrance knowing that my mother, as many of other friends and family that have gone on before me are spending eternity in the presence of our Mighty God. And I know that there all cheering me on to finish this race and join them in God's time. The empty tomb was without a doubt my favorite. I took 104 pictures total and at least 15% were of the tomb. What a wonderful thing you have done here. I just want you to know how this experience touched my heart, my soul, my very spirit. After two and a half hours of walking through the stations of the Cross multiple times, sitting in the tomb and thanking God for an empty tomb, and touring the gift shop, I departed for home at 10:30 a.m. It was an uneventful ride back home with only one missed turn that added 40 miles to the trip, but I saw some beautiful countryside's. Arriving home safe and sound at 6:30 p.m. on Good Friday, I knew that every step, every mile was ordained of God and I was grateful for the opportunity to have seen the Cross. Thank you for your commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ. Rick Hanzelka/ Lampasas Texas

There are not enough words to describe what visiting the Cross does to a person.
Five of us traveled from Ft. Worth to see something that we will never, ever be able
to fully tell someone how it makes one feel.  It was a long 650 mile round trip in one day, but well worth
every mile.  The vision of this area will stay in our hearts and minds forever.
What impresses us more than words can say is the non-commercial feeling
it has.  Your family put forth many hours of work, and are not asking for anything
more than to pass the feeling on to others.

May you be blessed for sharing this, especially with us.  The only thing left
now is to visit the area at night, or better yet, sunrise.

Thank you many times over, you and the view will stay with us and give us strength
every day.  This is a site one will never be able to forget.

This is something that everyone must add to their "bucket list".  Regardless of your religious affiliation, this is a humbling Christian experience.  The stations at the bottom of the cross are so moving.  The giant cross towers over you, as you experience the emotions moving through each station.  It is truly amazing and something you must see at least once.  I know it is on our list now of places to stop regularly and to make sure each of our children see. I have read your pages and looked at the cross and the sculptures with tears in my eyes.  I have been feeling so hopeless for our country.  Politicians rise and fall and none of them seem to care about the country they are supposed to serve.  It is all about personal power.  America's founders feared this day would come when they wrote the Constitution.  But, now we have judges who put themselves above the laws of the land.  It gives me such hope to see what you have done in Texas.  Christianity is alive and well in Groom, Texas.  Please continue your efforts in other parts of the country.  Maybe you could start in Washington, DC.  Put that big cross where all those politicians would have to pass it every day.  God bless you and thank you!

GARY, MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND, INTRODUCED ME TO THIS INDESCRIBABLE SITE.  I WAS UNABLE TO LEAVE IT UNTIL I VIEWED ALL LINKS OFFERED. MY EYES KEPT WET DURING VIRTUAL TRIP.  "OH JESUS, YOUR PRESENCE IS CERTAINLY FELT THRU THE WORK OF YOUR SERVANTS. PLEASE ABUNDANTLY BLESS THEM AND KEEP THEM SAFE".  THANK YOU ...DOTTIE

My daughter and I were driving on I-40 and spotted the Cross from quite a distance.  Neither of us had ever heard about it so decided to investigate.  We were completely inspired and in awe of such a magnificient site.  I am interested in knowing all about Steven and Bobby's inspiration in building this and have purchases the CD.  I can't wait until I can hear it.  God bless all who had a hand in building this tribute to Jesus's sacrifice.  It is even more inspiring than the movie "The Passion"  Everything was done in exquisite manner.  My daughter even remarked that the parking car stops were made of polished granate.  The rest rooms were top notch.  Whoever planned this wanted us sinners to realized that nothing is too good for our Lord.  Thank you for putting this where all travelers on I-40 will have an opportunity to experience this blessing.  Alice Longwell

This could end up being a bit wordy so I want to let you know ahead of time: Having moved to California with my family as a kid in 1956, I have travelled across the country many times through the years.  In August of 1999 my wife, son, daughter and myself drove across the country for the last time to visit my uncle in Dayton, Ohio, for what we anticipated would be the last time.  Having driven cross-country many times we were quite puzzled when driving east in Texas we saw way in the distance what appeared to be a cross.  As my wife continued driving the image grew larger and larger and we began noticing the signs advertising the cross.  We were amazed at what we saw as we got closer but decided we could not stop as we had a schedule to keep.  My wife and I kept asking each other if we should stop and it was a yes, no, yes, no conversation until we were almost past the turn off when we both said yes, we must.  It was a Thursday at about 11:30 a.m. when we pulled off the interstate and about 11:45 a.m. when we arrived at the cross and got out of the car.  We were truly amazed at what we saw and what we experienced and when we had seen everything we went to eat and then were on our way.  When we got to the motel that night we were too tired to call home for messages so decided to wait until Friday night when we got to Indianapolis.  When I called home I realized Jesus was with us the day before when we pulled of I-40 at the last possible second as I heard a message from my Dad telling me that my stepmother had died when we were at the cross.  Jesus delivered us to the cross at that moment to give us strength for what was to happen in the next few days.  My wife stayed in Indianapolis for the summer National Staff Conference for her company.  My son, daughter and myself went on to Dayton to spend three wonderful days with my uncle.  When we said goodbye to him on that Wednesday at noon we drove back to Indianapolis taking a detour through the town in Ohio where I grew up and he spent his career as a college professor.  Back in Indianapolis, when talking with my Dad back in California, a call came through and a message was left.  When I got the message it was from a good friend of my uncle telling me he had a heart attack right after we left that afternoon.  He died before we could get back to Dayton. Many times since we have thought back on that trip and have thanked Jesus for being in our lives and being with us during that trip.  God is good – all the time.  All the time – God is good! Thank you for letting me share this with you.

Your brother-in-Christ, Randy Phillips

We took a month long vacation out West and we absolutely had to stop by and see this awesome display of the last days of Christ—and we praise His Holy name for giving his life that we might have eternal life.   Thank you Steve and Bobby Thomas for your inspiration to build this so we could all be blessed by it.   John & Sarah Tackett

I first learned about this great place while perusing through the 2006 Texas State Travel Guide and was immediately drawn to the idea of seeing it one day.  (Surprisingly the guide didn't include a picture!)  Last month (Aug '08), finally made it to the Cross on the way back from Colorado--what an awesome and moving experience!  It's a "MUST SEE" for all Christians at some point in their lives, or anybody for that matter.  Definitely worth the trip to see it in person.  We need to keep spreading the word of this awe-inspiring place.  God Bless,  Dave Voigt, New Braunfels, TX.

Hello! My name is Debbie and on the way to Oklahoma for our youngest graduation from AIT at Fort Sill , we had seen the cross. How inspirational just driving by; but on our way home, we did stop and I can still feel in my heart how it moved me. I found it hard to look at Christ’s face knowing that he was going through what he did for us. With any luck I will be able to return to this place again, only for a longer period of time.  May those who made this possible remained truly blessed!   Debbie Murray

I visited The Cross in September of 2004 around my 40th birthday. I went with a group from my church, New Life Church of the Nazarene. Many things happened while I was there, but the one thing I' ld like to share is what happened at the copy of the Shroud. I wanted to read all the information of how that process was done, I'd said to my pastor standing beside me, but I didn't want to hold up the whole group. At that moment a man walked through the door and explained how the whole process was done. He just happened to be one of the people that made those copies. He said that he'd been waiting a long time to come see it. Just when I wanted it he answered my request. For months our pastor would tell that story to our congregation. I guess it made a lasting impression on him, too. lori haley
